When you arrive, the audiologist will ask about your medical history, medication and symptoms. The audiologist will look in both ears with a video otoscope. The audiologist will show you an image of what a typical eardrum should look like. You can view the images on screen as the audiologist views them. If you prefer not to see the images. Then you can let us know as well. A consent form is offered. Any further questions you have are answered. Wax is usually taken out by microsuction; sometimes irrigation or manual removal may be employed depending on the case and, most importantly, what would work best for your ears. If you prefer a particular method, this would be considered as well.
If, after removal of earwax, something other than wax is found or a blocked feeling still resides within the ear. We can investigate your middle ear and inner ear further. If warranted, we share our observations and video images of your ear with your GP.
To soften the wax beforehand, use olive oil drops for up to three days before you come in. The clinic is on Rodney Street, in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter. The entrance has a step, so a portable ramp is used for wheelchair access - let reception know in advance so it is ready when you arrive.

Yes, there is free parking at Sonant Hearing Clinic. When you visit, you can find the sign for Sonant patients highlighted on the side of the building. When you come into the reception foyer, put your car registration into the tablet to register you car for free parking on visiting us.

As trained and qualified audiologists, we can investigate further by testing your outer, middle and inner ear to find out why you are not hearing as well as you expect. If further medical attention is required, we can refer you to ENT along with the results you have obtained from your tests. Providing further information for guidance.
