When considering the style and size of aids, these are the kind of questions we would like to explore with you.
Which hearing aid do you think is smaller?
Which hearing aid do you find will suit smaller ears better?
Which hearing aid will suit your ears better?
We have have had some clients whom are motivated by the size of their hearing aids. At Sonant Hearing Clinic we strive to provide solutions that these clients will be more confident with whilst giving them the choice and as much information as possible to help them make an informed decision.
This is one of the many benefits of seeing a private independent impartial hearing aid dispenser.
The first step towards wanting to wear hearing aids is a big one. We want to give clients that confidence to proudly wear and improve their hearing health daily. Rather than keep their hearing aids in the drawer because they don't like the way it looks. We want to make the process of wearing hearing aids daily an easier decision, because one is saved the concern of their hearing aids being visible.
Some clients would like a device that has the cosmetic appeal they are after, something discreet or something that goes with their hair or glasses. We can offer invisible in the canal hearing aids (pictured below) or small (CIC) completely in the ear canal hearing aids. (as pictured above right.) Outside of custom in ear devices (pictured below), small RIC hearing aids ( as seen above) can be a good option for those wanting less occlusion (blocked sensation in ear), more features (e.g. bluetooth) and a greater range of gain amongst other benefits.
Sound quality and technical features might be lower on their priorities and as long as they are happy with the sound quality, they are meeting all the clinical requirements (vision, dexterity, support, cognition, type and severity of loss) and the hearing aid has been programmed to best practice standards with real ear measurements (REMs) used to verify prescription we are always happy to dispense what the client will feel comfortable wearing.
If you would like to explore small and discreet hearing aid solutions with us, then don't hesitate to call us at Sonant Hearing Clinic on 01634 479550.
