Hearing Tests
At Sonant Hearing Clinic, We offer a Full Hearing Test and a Comprehensive Hearing Test.
With both hearing tests we will always share the results with your GP if there is an outcome that requires onward referral. This is as part of our continuing duty to your hearing health.
🟡Full Hearing Test: This includes a review of your medical history, otoscopy, air and bone conduction hearing test (with masking if applicable).
🟡Comprehensive Hearing Test: This includes a review of your medical history, video otoscopy, air and bone conduction audiometry, (with masking if applicable) tympanometry and speech audiometry.
🟡Hearing aid assessment: This includes a review of your medical history, video otoscopy, air and bone conduction audiometry, (with masking if applicable) tympanometry and speech audiometry. A lifestyle assessment and uncomfortable loudness level test (ULL). (To ensure your aids stay within their limits! ULL will not be performed for clients with tinnitus.)
🟡Children's Hearing Tests (Glue Ear Assessment): We perform hearing tests for children 5yrs old and above. The appointment includes a comprehensive medical history, otoscopy (observation of the ear), Play audiometry (Play hearing test) or pure tone audiometry for older children. Middle ear pressure test - Tympanometry.
(Please bring your child's red book if you still have this.)
NB: A letter may be required from the child's school requesting the test.
